Yuma Bill. Yuma Bill was created by Ed Earl Repp (Bob Allison, Professor Brandon, Harley Gale, John Hale, Captain Wollack) and appeared in nineteen stories in Popular Western and Wild West Weekly from 1937 to 1943, beginning with “Mustang Massacre” (Popular Western, June 1937).
Yuma Bill Storms and his “slatlike pard,” Beanpole Badger, are owners of the “fabulously rich gold mine” at Surprise Gulch. The pair are incredibly rich, but that brings with it its own problems, and there are always calls for help from the likes of Sheriff Johnny Beaton that require Yuma Bill and Beanpole to loosen their guns in their holsters.
