York, Anton. Anton York was created by “Eando Binder,” the pseudonym of Earl Binder (Invisible Robinhood, Adam Link, Little People, Mad Moor, Vincent Renolf, Dan Williams) and Otto Binder (Invisible Robinhood, Adam Link, Little People, Mad Moor, Vincent Renolf, Dan Williams), and appeared in four stories in Thrilling Wonder Stories between 1937 and 1940, beginning with “Conquest of Life” (Thrilling Wonder Stories, Aug. 1937).
Anton York is a Superhuman. He is the son of Matthew York, an American scientist who in the 19th century discovered an immortality formula. (The formula works through a combination of chemicals and cosmic radiation). Anton is given the formula, as is his wife, Vera. Together the two have a series of adventures, first on Earth, when they defeat a group of men who steal the immortality formula, and then across the galaxy, where Anton and Vera fight and defeat first a group of insane, immortal, technologically-advanced aliens and then an invasion from another universe.
