Wimble, One Week. One Week Wimble was created by Helen Burnham and appeared in The Murder of Lalla Lee (1931) and Telltale Telegram (1932).
Mr. Wimble is short, fat, bald, with merry blue eyes and a genial, good-humored, down-to-earth manner. All of these things help him to be a very successful private detective, whose nickname, “one week,” comes because he only ever needs one week to solve a case. Although Wimble is naturally friendly, he accentuates that aspect of his personality while investigating a case, because “the better a chap likes folks the more information he can get out of them.”
