Wilbur and Stevenson. Wilbur and Stevenson were created by “J.S. Klimaris,” the pseudonym of Walter Kubilius, and appeared in “The Case of the Vanishing Cellars” (Future Combined With Science Fiction, Aug. 1942) and “The Case of the Baby Dinosaur” (Future Fantasy and Science Fiction, Oct. 1942).

Wilbur and Stevenson are special investigators for the Society for the Investigation of Unusual Phenomena, which means that when the bizarre and outré are encountered or discovered, Wilbur and Stevenson are brought in. So when a man’s wine cellar completely vanishes, Wilbur and Stevenson investigate and discover that the disappearing wine was the result of a misfiring experiment of the fifth columnists of the alien Petanian Guard.
