White, Lee. Lee White appeared in a number of stories in The Rover in 1939.

Lee White is a British Great White Hunter who discovers the Darga, a tribe of Bambenga (pygmies) in Africa, “and they regarded him as their leader and master.” White also discovers a deposit of “duralanite,” a super-metal which would allow the construction of ultra-long range bombers. Unfortunately, the Germans know about duralanite, too, and White is forced to carry out a prolonged duel with the German agents as he returns to England. Fortunately, White is aided by seven Darga: Kan, Loki, Pama, Koro, Nula, Gru, and Ling.
