Wallion, Maurice. Maurice Wallion was created by “Jul. Regis,” the pseudonym of the Swedish author Julius Pettersson, and appeared in a number of stories and twelve novels and short story collections from 1916 to 1924, beginning with Det Blå Spåret.

Maurice Wallion is a Great Detective. He is a reporter and international correspondent for a Stockholm newspaper before and during the war years. Known as “The Problem Solver,” Wallion can be described as a combination of Nick Carter (I) and Sherlock Holmes. Wallion has many of Holmes’ features and mannerisms but is just as willing to settle a case with his fists as with his brain. Most of Wallion’s enemies are from Europe or South America. The stories combine the adventure of the Nick Carter stories with the logical reasoning of the Sherlock Holmes stories.
