Van Duyven, Oscar. Oscar van Duyven was created by Robert Brennan and appeared in ten stories in Detective Fiction Weekly in 1926 and 1927, beginning with “The Maltese Cross” (Detective Fiction Weekly, July 31, 1926).

Oscar van Duyven is an American millionaire, the owner of an electric fan company. He has gone to France to wander the countryside and have adventures. In this he is assisted by his Parisian driver, Pierre Lemasse, who usually steers van Duyven in the direction of mysteries.
