Undercover Man. The Undercover Man was created by John Wilstach and appeared in three stories in Detective in 1933 and 1934, beginning with “The Murder Master” (Detective, Nov. 1933).
Agent Carny works for the Narcotic Division of the F.B.I., along with his sidekick Farrow. Together they are efficient at catching bad men, but Carny’s specialty is going undercover into criminal gangs, especially those run by crimelords who specialize in drug trafficking, and taking down the gangs and leaders all at once—violently, if he has to. Carny becomes known in the Agency as the “Undercover Man.”
