Umon Kondo. Umon Kondo was created by the Japanese author Mitsuzô Sasaki and appeared in at least two dozen films from at least 1929 until at least the mid-1960s, possibly beginning with Umon Ichiban Tegara - Namban Yûrei.

Umon Kondo is a samurai detective in Edo sometime in the 18^th century. He investigates a variety of crimes and threats to the Shogun, from minor murderers to extremely skilled assassins to political conspiracies. He always rides a very intelligent white horse.
