Uberfeld, Inspector. Inspector Uberfeld was created by “Axel Alt,” the pseudonym of the German author Wilhelm Ihde, and appeared in Der Tod Fuhr im Zug (1943) and Leichenfund am Circus Busch (1948).

Inspector Uberfeld is a philosophical, erudite, and contemplative police inspector for the Berlin police in the years before World War Two. He solves cases involving a series of murders on the Berlin railway system and in a circus.
