Twyford, Kit and Cora. Kit and Cora Twyford were created by "Cedric Wolfe," the pseudonym of Ernest Alais (Long-Headed Latimer) and appeared in a number of stories in Pluck, The Boys’ Friend, and Union Jack from 1906 to 1911, beginning with “The Blue Room Mystery” (Pluck #523, 1904).
The Twyfords are a sibling pair of detectives who appeared in at least one Sexton Blake story. They are a kind of John Steed and Emma Peel for the 1910s: Kit is urbane and witty and Cora is spunky and “dark-haired, with dark, sparkling eyes and piquant features.” Cora is a master of disguise as well as a top-notch detective.
