Trotter, Tuddleton. Tuddleton Trotter was created by Harry Stephen Keeler (Angus MacWhorter, Mysterious Mr. I) and appeared in The Matilda Hunter Murder (1931) and The Case of the Barking Clock (1947).
Tuddleton T. Trotter is a kindly white-haired eccentric who to all appearances is merely a senile old man. He is unkempt, badly dressed, and lives in a house filled with dust, dirt, cats, and books on abstruse subjects. But, to the surprise of many, Trotter is also a brilliant (if off-beat, to say the least) crime-fighter who has penned a masterpiece on crime-fighting, Mathematics Versus Crime.
