Towers, Ted. Ted Towers was created by Ed Anthony and appeared in the comic strip “Ted Towers, Animal Master” (1934-1939).

Ted Towers is a square-jawed adventurer who traps animals for a living. He works out of India, although his adventures bring him to many other remote and animal-infested areas. He is aided by his "faithful retainer" Ali, a trained Indian tracker and guide, and by Catherine Custer, the spunky blonde love interest. Towers’ initial adventures are limited to tracking down down dangerous animals, such as Bengal tigers, but in later years he begins started opposing native rebellions, vicious rival trappers, tiger cultists, and power crazed tyrants, in places as various and far-flung as Singapore, Siam, and Calcutta.
