Tony, Inspector. Inspector Tony was created by the French author Gabriel Bernard (Miraculas, Satanas (II), Spanish Woman, Valentin) and appeared in Les Mystères de la Coeur de Berlin #1-33 (1916-1917) and Pages de Gloire ou les Aventures de l’Inspecteur Tony #1-19 (1930).
Tony is a young, patriotic Frenchman who begins serving his country by fighting German spies in 1887. Tony joins the police and becomes a Commissioner but continues to foil the schemes of German spies. Among his other exploits are the investigation of the Dreyfuss affair and his defeat of a sect which can control people's spirits from long distances.
