Tom (I). Tom (I) was created by the Spanish creator Francisco Darnis (Carlos and Marcos Bon, Mario, Nick, Rin-Tin-Tin (I), Samuel, Spanish Explorers) and appeared in the comic strip “Tom el Dominador del Universo” (La Risa Infantil, 1930).

Tom (I) is a Planetary Romance Hero modeled on Flash Gordon. Tom and his friends are in conflict with the Yellow Peril Ming-like tyrant of a far-distant world in which there is torture, traps, castles, thrones, operetta kingdoms, two-headed dragons, flying lions, and winged men.
