Tam O’Shanter. Tam O’Shanter was created Madelon St. Dennis (Sydney Traherne) and appeared in a number of stories in Complete Detective Novel Magazine in 1929, beginning with “The Ingram Murders” (Complete Detective Novel Magazine, May 1929).

Tam O’Brien is the daughter of Rance O’Brien, former Chief of Police. She got the investigative bug from him and became a private detective, in which role she becomes known as “Tam O’Shanter, Inquirer.”
