Taine. Taine was created by David H. Keller (Harry Brunton, Cecil of Cornwall, Wing Loo) and appeared in twelve stories in a variety of magazines, from 1928 to 1947, beginning with “The Menace” (Amazing Stories Quarterly, Summer, 1928).
Taine is a small man who works as a detective with the “San Francisco Secret Service.” He is a man of affectation and a droll, laconic, superior attitude who uses disguises, intuition, and ruthlessness to solve cases. In one of his stories Taine defeats the Yellow Peril Wing Loo.
