Sunbeam Valley. Sunbeam Valley was created by the French author Henri Bernay (French Explorers, French Pilot, Scolopendre) and appeared in “Le Secret de la Sunbeam Valley” (Contes et Romans Pour Tous n8, 1928; as a novel, 1928).
A brilliant Irishman travels to Sunbeam Valley, a remote valley in the Great Sandy Desert of northwestern Australia. Using electricity, and the SCIENCE! machines and weapons of Karl Selim Lemstrom and Nikola Tesla, the Irishman creates a techno-utopia. But despite the irrigation, food, and weapons, the inhabitants of Sunbeam Valley are still human, and their very human flaws and foibles lead to the downfall of Sunbeam Valley.
