Stockwell, Doreen. Doreen Stockwell was created by Fred Myton (Lorenzo Cameron, Nellie Gleason) and appeared in the film Nabonga (1944).

Doreen Stockwell is a Jungle Hero. When she was ten years old her father embezzled a large sum of money from a bank and flew to Africa with Doreen. The plane crashed, killing her father. Stockwell raised herself, so that by the time she is an adult, and is found by a man looking for the stolen money, Stockwell has the usual Tarzan (I) skills but a child’s mind. Fortunately for Stockwell, the local natives see her as a witch, and she also has a ferocious ape guardian, Samson.
