Stevens, Pat. Pat Stevens was created by “Peter Field,” the pseudonym of Davis Dresser (Jerry Burke (II), Twister Malone, Michael Shayne), and appeared in a number of stories and serials and seventy-eight novels and story collections from 1933 to 1967, beginning with “Outlaws Three” (Western Story Magazine, Nov 25-Dec 16 1933).

Pat Stevens is a young, wandering outlaw who marries the lovely Sally and settles down to become the sheriff of Powder Valley, on the American western frontier in the years after the American Civil War. But Stevens remains friends with Sam Sloan and old, one-eyed Ezra, and when necessary the trio kill a truly surprising number of bad men all across the Old West.
