Steele, Silver Jack. Silver Jack Steele was created by William F. Bragg (Dakota Dan, Andy Irons, Flash Moran, Dave Starr) and appeared in thirty-four stories in Wild West Weekly from 1932 to 1943, beginning with “Black Rim Raiders” (Wild West Weekly, June 18, 1932).
Silver Jack Steele is a wandering cowboy adventurer in the western frontier of the United States during the years after the Civil War. Steele is young, gray-eyed, and dark-haired. He has a single lock of silvery white hair, which earned him the nickname “Silver Jack” Steele among the outlaws of the Wyoming territory, many of whom Steele killed with his Colt. 45.
