Stanley, Henry. Sir Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904) was a Welsh journalist and explorer known for his travels across Africa and his search for David Livingstone. In 1923 he was the hero of the German dime novel Mit Stanley im Dunkelsten Afrika #1-12.

The fictional Stanley has considerably more sensational and vigorous adventures than the real Stanley (whose adventures were plenty strenuous).

Stanley appears in stories with titles like “Stanley, the Wizard,” “A Jungle Catastrophe,” and “The Blazing Sun.”
