Standish, Tiger. Tiger Standish was created by Sydney Horler (Brett Carstairs, Bunny Chipstead, H. Emp, Brian Fordinghame, Rex Hartley, Martin HuishGerald Lissendale, Justin March, George Meatyard, Nighthawk, Sebastian Quin, Baron Veseloffsky, Dr. Paul Vivanti) and appeared in twelve novels from 1932 to 1951, beginning with Tiger Standish.

The Honourable Timothy Overbury "Tiger" Standish is the son of the Earl of Quron. Standish is a two-fisted, football-playing, bluff and hearty Bulldog Drummond-type: tall, virile, strong, well-dressed, and always ready to thrash those Bolshie and Continental blighters, and anyone else who would stand in England's way. In the words of his author, Standish has "all the attributes of a thoroughly likable fellow...he likes his glass of beer, he is a confirmed pipe-smoker, he is always ready to smile back in the face of danger."
