Stander, Dr. Dr. Stander was created by Victor Halperin (Armand Louque) and appeared in the film Torture Ship (1939).

Dr. Stander is an Evil Surgeon Mad Scientist. Dr. Herbert Stander has a simple idea: operate on the minds of criminals and surgically remove the criminality from them. Unfortunately, the law decides that this is wrong. Stander’s response is to buy a ship, put several criminals on it, and go out to sea, where he can conduct his experiments in peace.
