Squaredeal Sam. Squaredeal Sam was created by Nelson S. Bond (Lancelot Biggs, Horse-Sense Hank, Jessifer, Lobblies, Meg the Priestess, Pat Pending, Anne Rogers, Chip Warren) and appeared in twelve stories in a number of pulps from 1940 to 1951, beginning with “One’s Got to be the Best” (Blue Book Magazine, Mar. 1943).
Squaredeal Sam McGhee is a Con Man and swindler working for a circus. Sam is neither honest nor straight, but he doesn’t mean badly. Through various cons he encounters a variety of strange characters, including Pat Pending.
