Solone, Blacky. Blacky Solone was created by James P. Webb (Rowdy Lang) and appeared in nineteen stories in Wild West Weekly from 1940 to 1943, beginning with “Texas Trouble Hunter” (Wild West Weekly, Sept. 7, 1940).

Blacky Solone is a retired Texas Ranger who has kept his badge. (He finds it useful to have). He is a good-humored giant, but he still finds common use for his walnut-stocked Colt. He wears beaded buckskin and rides a black horse named White.
