Smith, Polly. Polly Smith was created by H.T.E. Mansfield (P.C. John Dare, Daring & Co., Doctor Dread) and appeared in a number of stories in The Butterfly in 1911 and 1912.

Polly Smith is a schoolgirl detective who gained experience fighting crime and evil as an apprentice to Secret Service agent Gordon Barrington. Eventually Smith joins P.C. John Dare and forms Daring & Co.
