Sloan, Tim. Tim Sloan was created by “Wallace Kayton,” the pseudonym of Dale Boyd (S.W. Humphrey, Eddie Jones), and appeared in ten stories in Private Detective Stories and Spicy Detective Stories from 1938 to 1945, beginning with “Murder by Proxy” (Private Detective Stories, Aug. 1938).

Tim Sloan is a Bellem. He is "six foot six and skinny" and drinks a lot and suffers through hangovers because of it. He has more of a sense of humor about himself and his work than many other pulp private detectives do. His secretary is a short, zaftig woman who has a crush on her boss and an unusually sharp mind.
