Singer, Doc. Doc Singer was created by Eugene DeReszke and appeared in "The Painted Murder" (Amazing Detective Tales, August 1930) and “Clasp of Doom” (Amazing Detective Tales, Oct. 1930).

During World War One Doc Singer served in the front lines as a combat medic, his son by his side. But during the battle of the Argonne Forest Singer’s son was wounded, and when Doc operated on him, the boy died. Devastated, Singer left medicine to run a gambling den. Now he makes use of his knowledge of both fields, helping to prove how men were killed, how cards were rigged, and how a man's arm was removed from his body.
