Shannahan, Sheik, and Andy Simpson. Sheik Shannahan and Andy Simpson were created by Roland Krebs and appeared in thirty-five stories in Detective Story Magazine from 1927 to 1930, beginning with “The Perfect Misfit” (Detective Story Magazine, June 25, 1927).

Sheik Shannahan and Andy Simpson are burglars, young and flippant. Shannahan is the lead, a young fancy dan, suave, well-dressed, quick with the plans and the witty dialogue. Simpson is his friend and the narrator of the stories. He is not as quick and as extroverted as Shannahan and is more grounded and focused on money. The pair are small-time crooks and work minor stings and grifts which rarely turn out well for them.
