Saxon, Johnny. Johnny Saxon was created by William G. Bogart (Ken Daly, Flame Hardesty) and appeared in four novels between 1941 and 1946, beginning with Hell on Friday.

Johnny Saxon used to be a writer of pulp novels, but became a detective because the work was more satisfying and paid better. Usefully, Saxon is good with his fists and has an appropriately cynical and hard-boiled attitude. He lives and works in Manhattan, and shares an office with his business partner, Moe Martin.
