Sands, Jim. Jim Sands was created by Robert J. Casey and appeared in a story serial and five novels and story collections from 1929 to 1934, beginning with “The Secret of 37 Hardy Street” (Pictorial Review, Aug. 1929).

Jim Sands is a former police reporter who has a knack for solving crimes and for getting rich on stocks. (His trick: apply the skills that made him great as a reporter to nosing out good stocks). He is built like a boxer, is wry, pleasantly cynical, and a World War One veteran.
