Rytygier. In traditional Polish fairy tales the German Prince Rytygier invades Poland and threatens the kingdom and maidenhead of Good Queen Wanda.

In the Polish author Antoni Lange’s prose poem Wenedzi (1909) Rytygier encounters Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Roland (from La Chanson de Roland), and Polish myth-figures Cliff-Breaker and Oak-Twister.
