Roy, Rob. Rob Roy (1671-1734) was a Scottish rebel and cattle thief. In 1931 he appeared as the hero of Rob-Roy. El Escoces Invincible #1-17. Written by the Spanish author “Hugo Reyd” (Barbarroja, Buccaneers (II), Cabriola, Courier, the Dagger, Fermin de Castro, Five Invincibles, Florian, Jack & Dolly, Millionaire Adventurer, Montbars (III), Bill Navarro, Raul (I), Rin-Tin-Tin (II), Sanson, Santana, Sinmiedo, Tit, Titan (I), Jack Wills), Rob-Roy portrayed Rob Roy in simpler and more romanticized terms than Sir Walter Scott’s 1818 novel Rob Roy, and put Rob Roy through a series of adventures that had nothing to do with Rob Roy’s life or the events of the Scott novel.
He appears in stories with titles like “The Testament of the Hanged Man.”
