Reynolds, Bob. Bob Reynolds was created by Lemuel de Bra (Mock Don Yuen) and appeared in at least five stories in The Blue Book Magazine from 1919 to 1921, beginning with “Tears of the Poppy” (The Blue Book Magazine, Aug. 1919).

Bob Reynolds is a special agent for the United States Secret Service, working the San Francisco-Chinatown beat. It’s a difficult one, for the Chinese Reynolds has to deal with are varieties of the Yellow Peril stereotypes: either opium-addicted, or opium-dealers, or crafty, or bloodthirsty hatchetmen, or members of a vicious secret brotherhood, or outright criminal masterminds.
