Reid, Bob. Bob Reid appeared in the German dime novel Bob Reid, der Meisterdetektiv #1-16 (1922).
Bob Reid is a Great Detective and is overtly modeled on Sherlock Holmes, from his approach to detection to his deerstalker cap. But Reid is a jowly American who conducts his investigations in the United States and fights Communist spies, among others.
Reid appears in stories with titles like “The False Ally,” “The Red Spy,” and “The Inventor’s Daughter.”
