Rawlinson, John. John Rawlinson appeared in a number of stories in The Startler from 1930 to 1932, beginning with “Outwitted!” (The Startler, Nov. 15, 1930).

John Rawlinson is an Afghani Fighter modeled on the Wolf of Kabul. Rawlinson is known as the “Huzzoor of the Hills” and is assisted by his Pathan “Khorasan.” Rawlinson is wiry and strong, skilled and fit, and fights a variety of enemies of the Empire, from Pathans to Russians.
