Ramírez, Pepe. Pepe Ramírez was created by the Cuban creator Enrique Díaz Quesada (Cuban Man) and appeared in the film La Hija del Policia o en Poder de los Ñáñigos (1917).

Pepe Ramírez is a Cuban policeman who, assisted by the wise newspaper reporter Federico Gibert, arrests a number of members of the child-sacrificing Afro-Cuban cult of Abakuá. The members of the cult who escape being arrested kidnap Ramírez’s daughter, and he is forced to go to great lengths to rescue her.
