The Rajah. The Rajah was created by the Indian author Sarath Kumar Ghosh (Narayan Lal) and appeared in seven stories in Pearson’s Magazine (U.S.) from 1901 to 1914, beginning with “The Avenger of the Gods” (Pearson’s Magazine (U.S.), May 1901).

The Rajah rules a kingdom in India centuries ago, before the arrival of the British. He sees to it that the scales of justice are finely balanced and puts his thumb on the scales if need be.
