Québécois Fiancée. The Québécois Fiancée was created by the Canadian author Paul Gury and appeared in the radio serial La Fiancée du Commando (1942-1947).

The Québécois Fiancée is affianced to a brave French-Canadian soldier. Unfortunately, he’s no ordinary soldier: he’s a commando, and he goes on the most dangerous missions of the war, including the raid on Dieppe. Back home in Québéc, the Fiancée has to deal not just with the prospect of her fiancé’s death, but also with the realities of life on the homefront, including black marketeers.
