Pry, Paul (I). Paul Pry (I) was created by Francis D. Grierson (Richard Furlong (II), George Muir, Commissaire Patras, Professor Wells) and appeared in “The Case of the Golden Lily” (Weird Tales, Oct. 1923) and “The Iron Room” (Weird Tales, Nov. 1923).
Paul Pry (I) is an Earl. A “millionaire and amateur criminologist, Paul was a mystery; even the name by which he was so well known in half a dozen countries was an obvious pseudonym…He goes everywhere and knows everybody, but nobody knows him.” He is a genial fellow and is liked by his friends, but he can be a hard bastard when required to be and will kill criminals if he deems it necessary.
