Poynings, Roger. Roger Poynings was created by Michael Burt and appeared in The Case of the Fast Young Lady (1942), The Case of the Angel’s Trumpets (1947), and The Case of the Laughing Jesuit (1948).
Roger Poynings is an English writer who lives in the Sussex village of Merrington. He is erudite, loquacious, and is assisted, in solving murders, by his uncles, one a British Army Field Marshall and the other an “Archbishop-Bishop of the Holy Roman Catholic and Apostolic Church.”
