Posi & Nega. Posi & Nega were created by Joe W. Skidmore (Donald Millstein) and appeared in five stories in Amazing Stories from 1932 to 1935, beginning with “The Romance of Posi and Nega” (Amazing Stories, Sept. 1932).

Posi & Nega are husband and wife atoms. Posi is older and serious, while Nega is younger, lighthearted, and not particularly knowledgeable about anything. In the stories Posi lectures Nega on scientific theory and scientific fact while the pair escape various fates. A scientist pumps 300 million volts through their nuclei; they encounter three Mad Scientists, one of whom intends to destroy the universe; and eventually they are caught in a piece of glass dissolved by acid.
