Pons, Solar. Solar Pons was created by August Derleth (Hercules Dousman, Judge Peck, Laban Shrewsbury) and appeared in seventy short stories and seven collections from 1929 to 1973, beginning with “The Adventure of the Black Narcissus” (The Dragnet, Feb. 1929).
Solar Pons is a Great Detective and Sherlock Holmes pastiche. Pons is a consulting detective who lives on 7B Praed Street in London. He is assisted by Dr. Lyndon Parker. Pons’ cases often verge on the fantastic, and he clashes with Fu Manchu (I), among other Yellow Perils and other characters and creatures.
