Poiret, Antoine. Antoine Poiret was created by H. Collinson Owen and appeared in seven stories which were collected in The Adventures of Antoine (1919).

Antoine Poiret is the Business Director of the Paris journal, La Lumière, and toward the end of helping the journal survive, bringing attention to it, and increasing its circulation Poiret and his fellow reporters and workers, including the vitriolic anti-government Political Director, Marissot, engage in a series of risky and even dangerous stunts, from gambling with the journal’s payroll in Monte Carlo to falsely stating that a Da Vinci has been stolen from a local museum to displacing the “King of Paris,” a tyrannical energy boss.
