Persikov, Professor. Professor Persikov was created by the Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov (Sharik) and appeared in Rokoviye Yaitsa (1924).

Professor Persikov is an Unlucky Inventor. He creates a new kind of ray whose light accelerates the growth in primitive organisms. His intention is to grow huge chickens to feed the masses. But when the ray is shone on the wrong batch of eggs, chaos follows, and enormous snakes, crocodiles, and ostriches rampage across the countryside outside of Smolensk. After wiping out the populace there they march on Moscow, only to be killed by an early frost. Persikov is killed by a mob.
