Peeler, Bronc. Bronc Peeler was created by Fred Harman (Red Ryder) and appeared in the comic strip “Bronc Peeler” (1934-1938).
Bronc Peeler is a young, red-haired ranch hand on a New Mexico cattle ranch during the 1930s. With the help of his older and quite grizzled friend Coyote Pete and his younger Native American sidekick Little Beaver Bronc helps stop a variety of criminals, from cattle rustlers to bank robbers to crooked lawyers and politicians. Some of Peeler’s adventures are much more fantastic; he is hired by the F.B.I. and the Mexican secret police to stop a criminal organization from unleashing “the red plague,” and he discovers a Lost Race of Aztecs and wins the love of Princess Moonbeam, the daughter of the Aztecs’ king.
