Paturel, Monsieur. Monsieur Paturel was created by the French author Arnould Galopin (Allan Dickson, Francis Dormeuil, Doctor Omega, Fifi, Francis, Jack & Francinet, Julot, George Edgar Pipe, Tenebras, Jean Tixier) and appeared in Les Aventures de Monsieur Paturel #1-107 (1928-1930).

Monsieur Paturel is a botanist, entomologist, and explorer based on Henri Mouhot (1826-1861), the first Westerner to publicize the existence of the ruins of Angkor Wat. In Les Aventures de Monsieur Paturel Paturel and his friend Prof. Van der Thorn explore the world, finding new species of plants and animals in a variety of exotic locations, including Mars.

Patruel appears in stories with titles like “A Cry in the Desert,” “Always Farther To Go,” and “The Sacred Tiger.”
