O’Hanna, Mike. Mike O’Hanna was created by “Dale Clark,” the pseudonym of Ronal Kayser (Ghostly Jones, Doc Judson, Plates O’Rion, Highland Park Price), and appeared in twenty-eight stories in Black Mask from 1940 to 1947, beginning with “Rhymes With Crimes” (Black Mask, July 1940).

Mike O’Hanna is a “hard-luck house dick” at a “million-dollar resort hotel” in San Alpa in southern California. He is continually called upon to clamp down on hell-raising wealthy guests. He has a “rangy form,” long legs, and an “Irish-blue stare.”
