Nara-Nara. Nara-Nara was created by Marion Fairfax (Dr. Ord) and appeared in the film The Secret Game (1917).
Nara-Nara is a Japanese detective who is assigned to discover who is leaking the routes that American ships are using to carry troops across the Pacific. Nara-Nara suspects Major Northfield, the quartermaster for the U.S. Navy on the west coast, but the guilty party is actually Kitty Little, Northfield’s German-American secretary. Little’s German handler is Dr. Ebell Smith. Nara-Nara discovers the truth, kills Smith, and then kills himself rather than turn Little (who he has fallen in love with) over to the authorities. The chastened Little abandons espionage and marries Northfield.
